Hi Asheville Hikers,
This is an e-mail to remind you of the UNCA Spring Wildflower pilgrimage taking place next weekend at UNCA and environs around. There's not any strenuous hiking involved--the focus is wildflowers, and the hikes are at most a couple of miles. Cost is $5 for the entire weekend. You register on Friday evening and and then sign up for short hikes led by knowledgeable botanists and naturalists on Saturday and Sunday. Since the focus is wildflowers, no dogs are allowed. There are also evening programs Friday and Saturday evenings:
Friday evening, 4/27, 7:30 pm: "Native Orchids of North Carolina"
Saturday evening, 4/28, 7:30 pm: "Edible, Medicinal, and Utilitarian Plants Used by the Cherokees and Early White Settlers"
I am not scheduling a meetup for this because none of us organizers are leading any of the hikes.

Hope to see some of you there.
