LINSANITY the movie / movie group outing / Jeremy Lin

The documentary follows the NBA star from his humble beginnings as a mediocre piano player in his youth to when he was a high school basketball standout. It also shows his struggles to earn a scholarship offer due to race and the trials and tribulations of making an NBA roster.

It culminates with his breakout success with the New York Knicks, a 35-game stretch of amazing play and heroic performances during the[masked] season that will forever be cemented in the Big Apple's basketball lore.

Consider this a must-watch for any person interested in the underdog, as Lin's story is one that transcends the game of hoops.

The incredible—at times unbelievable—tale emphasizes hard work and perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds. Lin was forced to deal with racial stereotypes and all types of negativity on his path to stardom, but he never wavered in his faith and was rewarded by finally realizing his childhood dream on the biggest stage.

Filming for Linsanity began back in 2010, so the documentary includes rare and never-before-seen footage from Lin’s college career at Harvard and his debut as the first Asian American player in the modern NBA. However, the most exciting portion of the film will be some of his biggest moments with the Knickerbockers—including an epic game-winning three-pointer against the Toronto Raptors that had the crowd at the Air Canada Centre in a tizzy.

Lin wasn’t able to participate in the Knicks' playoff run that year due to injury, but he managed to capitalize on his unprecedented breakout by signing a three-year, $25 million deal with the Houston Rockets.

While he hasn’t found the same level of success and popularity with his new franchise, his fans can always relive his rise to the top with Linsanity.

If you want to watch it on the big screen, watch it soon as I don't think it will stay in theaters much longer.

This will be my second time watching Linsanity. It's awesome to relive the moment and root for the underdog.
