Moon Festival

Why do Asians eat mooncakes, and what are they made of anyway?  This year, the Moon Festival is on Sunday, September 30.  The Moon Festival is one of the biggest holidays for Asians.  We’ll teach you the history and significance of the Moon Festival, have our chef demonstrate how mooncakes are made, and give you a sample to take home!

I loved watching the moon cakes being made, and so amazing to hear how long and how much time is being put into each and every one! I can just imagine how the festival must be in China :) They are delicious and wish I could try each one! Had a great time Alice!

Loved everything about it! A big thanks to Alice, Mr. Li, and the Grand Asia Market team for hosting this event. It allowed me to have a little taste of the land I love, right here in Charlotte!

I am so sorry, Shawn, our bakery chef did not have time to do demonstrate on Wednesday. Thanks for letting me know, though, and happy mid-autumn / moon festival!

Thanks, Alice. I will just have to buy one to eat. :) I would still like to learn more about moon cakes' history, however, but I can read more about that on my own. Is Autumn the only time of year when moon cakes are especially popular?

Darn, if the meeting was on our usual day Wednesday or our usual time at 4pm on Thursday, then I would be able to attend. Really wanted to come.
