FREE Yoga, FREE Student Massage (limited availability so call[masked] to book), and a Networking POTLUCK!

We would like to invite you to East West College and East West Yoga to participate in a FREE event in promoting your self-care while networking!

East West College is geared towards training our next generation of massage therapists in preventative and therapeutic bodywork varying from ancient Eastern modalities, such as Tui Na and Thai massage, to modern Western modalities, such as Structural Integration and Spa therapies. East West Yoga was established to increase the variety of holistic alternatives available to our local community within our campus and supplement the massage bodywork that our clients receive. Feel free to join us for a free Vinyasa yoga class, a free 45-minute Student Massage, and a networking potluck afterwards!

Vinyasa yoga draws from the traditional foundations of yoga while leaving room for creativity in sequencing. This is an energizing, non-heated class that promotes peace of mind through movement. All levels are welcome to attend. There is a 50 maximum occupancy. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, we have a limited number of mats available.

If you would like to schedule a free 45-minute Student Massage, please contact me (Cindy Boyum) at[masked]-6161. There is limited availability as we have a fixed number of students per class. There are 6:40 PM and 8:00 PM slots available. The intake process will take 10-15 minutes, depending on how long it takes to complete paperwork, followed by a 45-minute massage and then ending with a 5 minute exit interview/feedback session.

If you are not able to attend the Vinyasa Yoga class, we encourage you to still stop by our Networking Potluck event! Make sure to bring business cards with you! We are excited to see many new faces and create many new networking relationships. Agenda:

5:15 PM - 6:15 PM: Vinyasa Yoga Class (Fifth Floor: Suite 550)
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM: Potluck and Network (Fifth Floor: Suite 525)
6: 40 PM - 7:40 PM: 45-Minute Student Massage (Third Floor: Suite 350)
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: 45- Minute Student Massage (Third Floor: Suite 350)

Potluck:
Please feel free to bring something to the potluck to share with everyone, whether it's a small snack or a favorite recipe that has been passed down from generations. When you RSVP, please comment on what you will be bringing. We provide utensils, plates, bowls, cups, hot water for tea, and an assortment of tea bags available. When you arrive, please drop off your potluck contribution on the Fifth Floor: Suite 525. Make sure your name is written on your dishware to easily distinguish and claim your dishware at the end of the event.

Required Forms:
East West Yoga: When you arrive to East West Yoga, you will be asked to complete and sign a waiver form. Forms will be completed on-site before you begin your yoga practice.

East West College Student Clinic: When you arrive to the Student Clinic, you will be required to complete a waiver as well as intake forms. This allows the student to review your health history and create a massage treatment plan that is geared towards your needs and goals. After your massage session, you will be required to fill out a feedback form for the student therapist. Students greatly appreciate this feedback as it helps them fine tune their skills. What To Wear: East West Yoga: Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move comfortably in such as yoga pants, t-shirt, etc. East West College Student Clinic: During your massage, you will be disrobing to your level of comfort. You will be draped appropriately at all times and only the area that is being worked on will be undraped.

Parking: There is ample metered parking near East West College and in the Liberty Centre Parking Garage directly across the street. The Portland Streetcar, which stops directly in front of the college, and the Max light rail that stops at the NE 7th Avenue and NE Holladay Street are excellent earth-friendly alternatives.

Cancellations:
If you have reserved a 45-minute Student Massage and find you are unable to attend, please provide me (Cindy Boyum) at[masked] with a 24-hour notice so I may be able to fill the vacant appointment time.

    Going to try making Bibinka (Filipino dessert made with sticky rice, coconut milk and palm sugar). I'm not ethnically Filipina and this will be my first attempt at making this so my *fingers are crossed* that it will work out for the potluck.
