The Victoria Autism-Asperger Meetup Group is a group for people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome, and their families and friends, to get together to meet other people on the autism spectrum, talk, eat and make friends. We are NOT a therapy group, and we do not have any professionals in attendance. We are all people on the autism spectrum ourselves, with some friends and family as well. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member to a meeting, and friends and family members are welcome to attend by themselves if they think it would help them learn about autism & Asperger's. Meetings are held the second Wednesday and fourth Thursday of every month, usually in a restaurant or coffee shop. Check back to the website for location, as it changes sometimes. We are hoping to find a more permanent location one of these days, but we don't have one yet. Members can also suggest their own meetups using the "Schedule a new Meetup" tool. While our dinner and coffee meetings are simply dinner/coffee and chat, anyone can suggest an activity to try for other times during the month. We are more of a social group than a support group, but we do encourage peer support. The group does not have a formal structure. mainly because we have people arriving and leaving at different times.
