How did you become interested in astronomy?

Just happened. 11 years at sea will do that to you. Also liked looking up in the Mid-East deserts.

What is your favorite or most memorable place you have stargazed from?

Mt Palomar-very late at night just outside the locked gates. Very spooky, lots of rustling in the bushes. Really, really dark tho'

Do you use ever use optical equipment for stargazing?

Small bins, but now have humungous ones. Just need a dark sky and no light pollution.

Have you taken any astrophotos, and if so, what equipment (35mm, DSLR, CCD camera)?

Do you use any astronomy software?

Just Stellarium and Orion

World traveler and former teacher, retiring sometime, hope to have more time to look up.
