How did you become interested in astronomy?

No answer yet

What is your favorite or most memorable place you have stargazed from?

The Great Falls Observatory Park seems to be the best site in the DC area. Big Meadows (Shenandoah) is quite nice but Spruce Knob is better.

Do you use ever use optical equipment for stargazing?

I have a Celestron CGE (Computerized German Equatorial) - 9.25". The CGE, with the equatorial mount, is pretty good for taking photos. I'm usually looking for more accessories.

Have you taken any astrophotos, and if so, what equipment (35mm, DSLR, CCD camera)?

I bought the Orion Deep Space Color Imager II but I find it awkward to use. I also have a DSLR - Canon XSi (12MP) & T-ring adapter. It seems to be much easier to work with.

Do you use any astronomy software?

I use "TheSky" (Software Bisque) - the telescope control seems to work with a variety of scopes.

Hobbies are more fun when shared. Much can be learned talking with people of similar interests.
