"What's Up?" - RASC Vancouver's new segment for newcomers to astronomy, especially young ones!
This new series of presentations and activities is offered before the start of each regular RASC Vancouver monthly guest lecture, and is tailored to newcomers to astronomy, especially young ones! More experienced astronomy fans might even find something of interest ;)-. Our presentation for June 9 is:
"Ten Solar System Mysteries" by Leigh Cummings, RASC Vancouver Council member.
"What's Up?" includes a free door prize generously provided by our new sponsor Canadian Telescope. Anyone who attends "What's Up?" is eligible! The door prize for June is a 95mm Newtonian Alt-Az with focusing drive!
"What's Up?" starts at 7:00PM, and finishes by 7:20PM, and is followed by our usual 7:30PM start time for our guest lecture (checkout the separate Meetup listing for the lecture: )..
Astro-juice, coffee, and cookies will be served at the Southam Observatory after our guest lecture.
"What's Up?" is part of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada - Vancouver public outreach program, and is offered to the general public at no charge.
The subject was very interesting that 20 minutes was not enough. It would be good to have more time for this What's Up.
