Sidewalk Astronomy - Observing Session @ Maple Ridge, BC

the VANCOUVER CENTRE of
the ROYAL ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY of CANADA
SIDEWALK ASTRONOMY
Rescheduled from Nov 5

Observing Session (weather permitting) Volunteer members of the RASC – Vancouver Centre will host an observing session at the Mount Crescent Elementary School playing field next to Maple Ridge Secondary School for the High School students and all interested in observing the night sky through a telescope.
Please be prepared for the evening by dressing warmly, in layers so you can regulate your body temperature as necessary. Take a toque, fingerless gloves, and hand warmers. It can get chilly standing around at night.
Any amateur astronomers interested in attending and bringing out telescopes are welcome to help us share the evening sky.

Do you need my scope? If so, is there parking close to the observing field? Is there anything in particular that the attendees are hoping to observe on Wednesday evening? (ie will a 4" refractor be adequate, or is my 10" more appropriate?)
    Fingers crossed for clear skies!!!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
