The Delaware Valley Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State (DVAU) will meet at the Ethical Society Building on the 1st Wednesday of every other month. Please join us for informational speakers and news about church-state issues in our area.
When you hear blatantly false claims about church/state separation are you able to make an intelligent response? Knowing about a subject is not the same as being able to speak about it.
At our October 2nd meeting, DVAU president Ed Joyce will once again metamorphose into the rabid anti-separationist "Reverend Elmer Ganfree." "Rev. Ganfree" will defend commonly held church/state separation myths against all reasonable arguments from the audience.
At this meeting we’re going to have a little fun and maybe learn something along the way. Claims the good reverend will defend include: The U.S. is a Christian nation; The anti-evolution myth; The words separation of church and state are not in the Constitution; The separation of church and state has resulted in God being kicked out of the public square; The Ten Commandments are the Foundation of American Law; and School Vouchers are good.
Here’s a chance to polish your separationist skills and have a good time as well.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, October 2, 7 pm, at the Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. Free and open to the public.
