Program Change!                  New Speaker!

Meet Dave Silverman...

The Guy Who Rode Shotgun on the

Atheist Billboard Truck in Boca Raton!

No one has ever accused Dave Silverman of not having chutzpah.  Silverman, the young, hard-hitting, innovative president of American Atheists (AA), took the bull by the horns, so to speak, (yes, he confesses there was a lot of that animal in the Romney campaign) and rode shotgun in the AA mobile billboard campaign truck in Boca Raton which, in 20- x 40-foot letters, bore the legend :

No Blacks Allowed (until 1978)

No Gays Allowed (Current)

SHAME ON MORMONISM

Was Silverman shaken by the experience?  “No,” he says: The Atheist billboard truck and its riders had more to fear from the paparazzi following them around than from the citizens of Boca Raton, some of whom gave the thumbs up sign as the truck drove through the city streets before and after the third presidential debate in this sunny Florida city.  Until election day, the Atheist billboard truck will follow Romney’s campaign bus as it travels throughout the nation.

‘The Communicator’

Come meet the brash young man who has proved himself to be a provocative communicator for Atheism, sometimes going where none would go before, unfazed by nervous Nellies who suggest that our protests might be more decorous. “Our battle will not be won by decorum,” contends Silverman.

“What’s really provocative is the attitude of Mormonism toward American minorities, including Atheists and other nonbelievers,” insists Silverman.  “We want to point out to the nation--and the whole world was watching us in Boca Raton during the presidential debate--that under a Mormon president, we risk losing the civil rights that many of our citizens have fought for over the past decades.”

Show Your Support!

Come on Thursday,  October 25th, to hear our brave new AA president tell us about the nationwide publicity campaign he has planned for the coming year. Silverman will also tell us about the AA convention in March, 2013, which will take place in Austin, Texas, the final headquarters of the now-legendary Atheist pioneer, Madalyn Murray O’Hair, just before she was murdered.

Come and show your support for the most audacious, most adventurous young Atheist leader in the nation, who is perhaps singlehandedly responsible for the uptick in the percentage of nonbelievers in America from about 10% previously to now well over 15%.   Come give Silverman a big hand for his extraordinary work for Atheism in the public sphere!
