As the Indiana State Legislature has recently passed a measure to "allow" (read "virtually mandate") the teaching of creationism in the State's public schools, thereby marking hoosier-land forever, along with other jurisdictions in Great Rubistan like Kansas and Tennessee, as an intellectual backwater, it's appropriate that we gather to pay homage to the O. G. of biological science, Chuck D., even if not precisely on his birthday. Old Chuck certainly rolled over on hearing the willfully/wishfully ignorant again characterize his insight as "only a theory." And to think these unwashed benefit so much on a daily basis from the medical and other scientific advancements enabled by Chuck's epic debunking of religious mythology. We shall lift a glass to his brilliance and his memory, and damn the philistines who diminish it. Besides, can you think of a better excuse to get together with your informed and snarky buddies on a cold February evening? Me neither, so see you there. I made the sit down for six, but many of us will be at the bar WELL before then.
Very nice, although small gathering....Great conversation that we could ALL participate in...And...They gave us the "private room". Love Brown's, love this group!!!!

I enjoyed seeing everyone at this smaller-than-usual gathering. Pleasant company and good conversation.

A smaller group made for much more coherent and comfortable conversation - a treat!

Wanted to share this page of "God Man" episodes; unfortunately it looks like a couple are missing (one being where he confronts "Nietzsche-man") but these are good nonetheless, enjoy!
