AIDS walk Los Angeles

AIDS Walk is Sunday October 16 in West Hollywood. People can register by going to http://www.aidswalk.net/losangeles/ and registering for team Atheists United 0273. People who can't walk but want to support us can also pledge money there. The march starts at 10 am, but it's best to plan to be there at 7 am to get parking, collect goodies, and participate in the pre-walk activities. If we get 25 people to sign up, we will get an assigned table, which will make it easy for us to find each other and march together. This is always a fun event - there are interesting groups, entertainment, free food and drinks. There are cheerleaders who will cheer us on. There are always a few fundamentalists who picket the event with big signs that say we are going to burn in Hell, and everyone has a good time taking pictures of them. There will be a lot of high school students and college students, and this could be a good opportunity to spread the word there. The money raised goes for social services for people with AIDS and education to prevent people from getting AIDS.
