Relaxed night of witty banter with like-minded people. This month we'll be at Boston's in Manchester. Great food, great desserts, or just grab a drink.

That's okay. We'll still be there.
Can't make it after all :(
Sorry to hear that. Hope to see you at the next one.
Reservations are made. I told them we may have more than 13 but it didn't seem like a problem
Sounds like fun!

I don't drink alcohol (no problems if others do), am not into watching sports, and have had ringing in the ears since I was 19. So places where socializing with each other is the focus and point, in comfortable places where we can all sit together, that are quiet enough to hear at a normal conversational level, work for me. The closer to Simsbury, the better for me, not surprisingly. One thought is that some hotels have really nice lounges for conversation over drinks, in Hartford (e.g., The Goodwin) and surrounding towns. There are a couple of Marriotts(sp?) in the Avon/Farmington area, as well as places like the Simsbury Inn and Avon Old Farms Inn, among others.

You are describing what many of us are looking for. We definitely have people going that don't drink and I try to pick locations that we get quiet seating areas. Tisane was quiet (until I started singing) Boston's has pleanty of seating with low music which is why I like that place. And I can private seating at no cost in city steam. I love the beer but they also have a full menu. Those places you suggested sound great! Let's put up a list of suggestions for july and we can pick one! :)

Would've been good to come, but a far drive for me, and wondering if you can attract more people to attend? How about trying holding it at places in Hartford, and over on the western side of the CT river, including in the Farmington Valley area?
No problem. Last month we held it in Hartford and had about 12 people. We want to move it around the greater Hartford area so we can attract people from all over. Let us know if you have any suggestions for the July event.
My next suggestion for July was going to be City Steam in downtown Hartford. Thoughts?
