Austin Coalition of Reason

Couple of things I wanted to make everyone aware of. The United
Coalition of Reason has been forming an Austin Coalition of Reason
chapter over the past few months. Our Atheists Meetup group is joining
with Center for Inquiry- Austin, Atheist Community of Austin, Atheist
and Freethinker Meetup Group of Austin, Atheist Longhorns, and Ethical
Society of Austin to raise the visibility of local groups dedicated to
"lives based on reason and compassion". You can check out the web site
here:

Nothing really changes for us operationally, but there will be some
efforts to promote the COR group and that should provide a new avenue
for potential new members to find our group. And speaking of those
efforts, the first big item will be a billboard that will go up in the
Austin area on June 21st. You can see a mock-up on the front page of
the website above. I think it's going up on southbound I-35, near 183,
but don't quote me. There will also be some press releases that go out
around that time and we'll see how much publicity that all generates.

So I tend to keep things pretty low profile for our group, but this
should provide a good avenue for new people to find us. Let me know if
you have any questions or comments.
