I got a call from a reporter yesterday, and now I'm quoted in his article
about the Texas law that adds "under God" to the Texas Pledge of Allegiance.
Here's the article: http://journal-sp...
and a portion of it: - Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee,
Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.
That is the new revised pledge to the Texas flag. The phrase one state
under God was added during the 80th Legislature that concluded this summer,
and it was officially incorporated into the pledge on June 15.
Where the general public is included, saying we are one nation (or, in this
case, state) under God is inaccurate and sometimes insulting especially to
those trying to be free from religion, said Joe Zamecki, the Texas state
director of American Atheists (Under God) turns the pledge into a prayer.
To even hear someone have to say that is hurtful.

I got quoted! <dances around the room> :o)
Texas State Director
"I don't care whether I succeed or whether I fail, as long as I'm trying!"
