Sunday July 25

Man of the (Freethought) World to Address Atheists United this Sunday

Mel Lipman, vice president of the International Humanists and Ethical Union, will give the title "Unity and Diversity in Nontheism -- E Pluribus Unum" both insight and humor, when he speaks to Atheists United this Sunday (11:00 a.m. at 4773 W Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles). Mel Lipman, a man who is recognized nationally and internationally as on of the leaders in promoting cooperation among freethought groups, certainly has the credentials to explain. Mel is immediate past president of the American Humanist Association. Among his first acts there was to bring the AHA into the Secular Coalition for America.

Now retired from his professional life as a constitutional lawyer, Mel lives in Las Vegas with his wife Anita. When he?s not globe trotting for freethought, one can often find him on a Vegas stage, practicing his avocation as a stand-up comedian.

The meeting is free to all members and first-time visitors. There will be a $5.00 fee for other attendees. This is a new policy

Child care is available.

Thanks to the generosity of Opening Minds Productions, there will be a door prize of four tickets to the August 15 performance of Meeting of Minds
