Fall Equinox Party, Thank-A-Farmer Food Drive, Blood Drive & Board Nominations

  • Sep 28, 2014 · 11:00 AM
  • Center for Inquiry - Los Angeles

It’s the time of year to celebrate the Autumnal Equinox. It is a time when day and night are approximately equal and marks the beginning of the fall season.

All are welcome to join the festivities: members and guests, young and old, believers and non-believers. We’ll enjoy games, entertainment, good food and stimulating conversation with fellow partiers.

Also during the meeting, we’ll be holding our quarterly blood donation drive. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center will bring their mobile blood donation truck to collect blood for sick patients. On average, each pint of blood collected will help the life of 3 people.

Donations will be accepted throughout the party, from 10:30am to 3:30pm. Click here for more information about blood donation and our blood drives.

This meeting also marks the start of our annual Thank-A-Farmer Food Drive. We’ll be collecting canned goods and cash for grocery gift certificates at the next 3 general meetings. These donations will be distributed to farm workers around Thanksgiving. Please give what you can. This food drive is supplemented by a generous grant from the Riseman Foundation.

A complimentary lunch is provided after the talk. We’ll get a chance to meet, talk and get to know one another.

AU Kids
Children are welcome to join our AU Kids program. It’s like a Sunday school for secular parents. The children have another area where they play and learn during the main event. Parents are free to attend the main event or stay with their children during the meeting. After the main event, we all come together for lunch.

This meeting is free and open to the public.

Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the building.

About[masked] people attend our meetings so you’re sure to have a good time and meet lots of new people.

We need your support
We are a not-for-profit organization. Your donations to Atheists United and membership make these meetings possible.

Note: Registration begins at 10:30am
