The Invention of Lying takes place in a world where everyone tells the truth. Mark Bellison (played by real life atheist, Ricky Gervais) is a screenwriter, about to be fired. He’s short and chunky with a flat nose — a genetic pool that means he won’t get to first base with Anna, the woman he loves. At a bank, on the spur of the moment he blurts out the first ever fib, with eye-popping results.
The Invention of Lying has been called an atheist comedy as the film generates laughs from portraying God’s existence as one of the biggest lies of all.
AU Kids Children are welcome to join our newAU Kids event. It’s like a Sunday school for secular parents. The children have another area where they play and learn during the talk. Parents are free to attend the lecture or stay with their children during the meeting. After the talk, we all come together for lunch.
This meeting is free and open to the public.
A complimentary lunch is provided after the talk. We’ll get a chance to meet, talk and get to know one another.
Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the building.
About[masked] people attend our meetings so you’re sure to have a good time and meet lots of new people.
