Why did you join the group?

I was excited to see there are others who, while they may not believe as I do, they still have the guts to take a stand against the medieval nonsense that passes for belief in our world today.

What labels do you prefer when defining yourself (e.g., secular humanist, agnostic, atheist, skeptic)?

Deist, free-thinker, humanist, skeptic. Wikipedia defines Deism as the belief that reason and observation of the natural world are sufficient to determine the existence of God, accompanied with the rejection of revelation and authority as a source of religious knowledge. Merriam-Webster says that Deism is a movement or system of thought advocating natural religion, emphasizing morality, and in the 18th century denying the interference of the Creator with the laws of the universe. I believe Albert Einstein described it best when he said, “God does not play dice with the universe.” I believe there is a vast ocean of difference between any religion and it's dogma and living a spiritual, moral life. I'm a deeply spiritual person but I personally find theist dogma abhorrent.
