    Welcome to Portland Noelle!
Yes, some people give you weird looks when you say you're athiest because many religious people are very intolerant.
Remember; they don't have a problem wth you; they have a problem with themselves.

    CFI Portland Meetup Group

Noelle, Welcome to Portland! I'd love to hear about some of the events your group in Indianapolis did. We give our volunteers lots of flexibility to lead any type of event/program they're interested in. Let me know if you're interested in helping run something in CFI Portland or helping out in some other way.

Hope to see you at one of our monthly events. Also, be sure to check out our two big events this October: Sam Harris, and our 3-day film festival.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster lands for a pint.

Hey Noelle, welcome. I have to admit that I havn't been too active in meetup groups yet because my wife and I are still going through the process of unpacking, organizing and replacing our furniture that we sold to come here. But if You and your husband want to go out for a beer sometime let us know.

    Atheists Etcetera

Noelle, thanks for the greeting. I'd be interested in learning more about these positive outreach opportunities. Are the functions designed to combat some of the false connotations associated with atheism through educational oratory? Or is it more like "The Atheist Soup Kitchen" (as a random weird examaple) where it is directly demostrated that we aren't the diabolical, black hat wearing villains people suspect? Perhaps both. My schedule can be unforgiving but I will try to attend a meetup soon.
