Home Who we are

The KWMC’s greatest fundamental strengths are its open-door policy and community- based approach. The KWMC has been serving the community since 1967 and continues to provide support to all residents of the Waterloo Region. We offer many services, programs and support to new Canadians and often work with partnering agencies. We offer assistance with job search services, interpretation and translations services, assistance with settlement needs, counseling, completion of government forms and other documentation needs. Our role is helping our community understand diversity. Through our services, we work with clients and community partners in effort to accomplish our mandate.

“The K-W Multicultural Centre exists for the purpose of fostering the diversity which exists in the community and of facilitating the full participation of all residents in the life of the community.”

Our Mandate

Our mandate is to break down the barriers to full participation of new Canadians in the Kitchener-Waterloo Community and surrounding areas.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
