The Atlanta Scala Meetup Group Message Board › Introductions

Atlanta, GA
Post #: 1
Hello all,

My name is Brent Holland. I'm a java developer with 6 years experience building web apps. At my last position I got to play with groovy a good bit, and that peaked my interest in other JVM based languages. I'm currently looking for a job in the Atlanta area, and I'm hoping to find a position with a company that uses scala, but does not necessarily require previous professional experience with scala. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Other than that, I'm currently reading a couple books on scala. I'm hoping to help out with documentation on a open source library (like scalaz, etc), as I believe the best way to learn is to immerse yourself and *read* other peoples code.

Anyway, thanks for any tips / suggestions you can provide,
