Do you want to paddle on this trip but don't have a boat, or perhaps, don't want to load and tote your boat? Then this is the sign-up for you! We will bring you a boat, a PFD, and a paddle. All you need to bring is drinks, snacks, and yourself dressed for paddling.
We're not outfitters; we are fundraisers! To reserve a boat you must donate $35.00 to Georgia River Network through our Paddle Georgia fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/SuziandGlen/paddle-georgia-2013. This donation is not optional - you must make the donation within an hour of RSVP'ing for this trip.
If you have your own boat and would like to use it you should sign up for the other, corresponding trip without boat rental.
We will paddle from McGinnis Ferry to Medlock Bridge. This is an easy 8-mile trip suitable for paddlers of all levels. We are a social group but you must paddle while talking. We're not racing but do want to get some exercise.
The weather is supposed to be warm but smart paddlers will bring warm clothing just in case the weather report is not entirely accurate.
We'll meet at 10:00 AM at McGinnis Ferry to drop boats then drivers only (you) will shuttle cars to Medlock Bridge. Medlock Bridge is a CRNRA park so be sure to bring your CRNRA parking pass or $3.00 for parking.
We often stop for beer and snacks after paddling. All are welcome to join. Please bring dry clothes if you think you'll need them.
If you have questions or need more information please contact Glen Smith,[masked], [masked]. If I don't have your email address and phone number please get them to me so that I can contact you if there are any late changes.
