Saturday, April 20 & Sunday, April 21
Like all of the others, this event is a little different and seems to be easy and fun.
This is a paddling trip with camping beside your vehicle containing all of your gear & goodies and then paddling again.
This paddle trip is open to all boats. We will have lots of rest stops and a lunch break on the trip. We will also be stopping to visit a waterfall
Note: This will be an adult event and the next one will be a family friendly one with children 8 yo and up.
We will be paddling 9 miles down the Etowah on Saturday and tent camping at the take-out so you will only be paddling with your lunch. Sunday we will paddle the same section of the Etowah which never gets boring no matter how many times you paddle it. So bring your kayak, food and camping gear and let's spend the night out. There is a port-o-let at the put-in and take-out.
You will need all of your food and drink for Saturday and Sunday until around 2:00pm but if you need something almost everything is within 10 miles.
There is no cell service at the take-out but a 1/4 to 1/2 mile drive up the hill solves that issue.
We will be camping on private land that has a boat ramp and port-o-let and a user fee of $3.00 per day or $6.00 for both days. Cost for this event will be $15.00 per person cash which includes your user fee and camping. Money will be collected at the Etowah Scenic River Park.
