KAYAK ABBOTTS TO GARRARD LANDING (HOLCOMB BRIDGE) #3 IN THE SERIES

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CO-LISTED WITH AAP AND SOA. PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP ON ONE SITE. WE WILL TAKE A MAXIMUM OF 24 PEOPLE (12 ON EACH SITE).

Join Barbara and Roxanne and SOA for a scenic trip down the Chattahoochee River. We will put in at Abbotts Bridge (mile marker 335) and take out at Garrard Landing on Holcomb Bridge (mile marker 325). We will kayak/canoe down stream for approximately 10 miles over 4 hours.

This will be the third of a series of four kayak trips being held on Sundays in June and August (I will be OOT a good bit of July). We will cover the 44 miles of the Chattahoochee River in reverse order with the furthest south being first and the furthest north being last because it is the hardest.

We will meet at Abbott’s bridge at 9:00am SHARP…. that means boats unloaded and ready to start the shuttle. We will leave kayaks at Abbotts and take cars to Garrard Landing on Holcomb Bridge and then shuttle back to the start. I would like to start paddling at 10am but I expect with delays etc. we should be paddling no later than 10:30am.
We will travel down the Hooch at 2.5-3 miles/hour arriving at our destination around 3pm. It will then take another hour to shuttle back to get the remaining cars and haul kayaks/canoes.
Dinner after will be at Hooligans Tavern at 8440 Holcomb Bridge Rd #500 Roswell, GA 30022
