The Chestatee's biggest rapids are upstream of this stretch--just class I and some riffles on this one. The plan is to meet up at 0930 hours at The Outside World in Dawsonville, Georgia, huddle briefly, and proceed to our put-in, and drop all gear. Then, set shuttle and enjoy IN LIESURELY FASHION this approx. 5+ mile run, and recover. Fire keeps us warm and that takes a minute.
"...Below Highway 52, the gradient decreases ... and the river becomes slower with only Class I rapids." Here is the link to the river description by AWA: http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/478/
