Re: [kayaking-177] Anyone want to hit the Cartecay?

Hey Dean, I paddle WW.  It's impressive that the Cartecay is still over 3ft.  My concern for Saturday is that more rain is expected.  At under 3ft. the Cartecay is a class 2/2+ river.  At 3-4 ft it becomes more class 3ish and less beginner friendly, but not out of the question if group dynamics are good.  Over 3.5 and especially over 4ft, the whirlpool rapid becomes retentive and a serious hazard.  I'm not sure about my plans for this weekend yet.

I'm unsure how many whitewater kayakers are on this meetup, but I'd love to find someone to hit the Cartecay with sometimes soon while the water level is up.  Anyone want to join me?
