Re: [kayaking-177] Anyone want to hit the Cartecay?

Hey guys, I paddle WW.  The Cartecay is normally 2/2+ at normal levels, below 3 ft.  Once you start to get well over 3 ft, up around 3.5 and especially above 4ft., the hydraulic at Whirlpool becomes very retentive and is a serious river hazard.  At the 3-4 ft level, I'd call it "intermediate" skill level and kinda class 3ish.  Over 4ft, it becomes a serious paddle, good fun for advanced boaters.  Normally people don't take beginner paddlers on the river over 3ft without a solid crew for support.  The other problem is that Friday and Saturday call for more rain, so it could get up there in the big water levels.  Me, I'm not sure what I'm doing quite yet. Depends.

I'm unsure how many whitewater kayakers are on this meetup, but I'd love to find someone to hit the Cartecay with sometimes soon while the water level is up.  Anyone want to join me?
