Summary: While it's been around for over 20 years, the Python language has been more recently gaining attention due to its readability, flexibility, and power. Python is a high-level, dynamic language currently being used for anything from simple server administration scripting to large, complex web applications. Python has also seen growing popularity in the data analytics and scientific fields due to its ease of use and strong community support. We will tour some of Python's version of standard languages constructs, the convenience of several of the languages built-in features not always seen in other languages, and briefly look at the power of the Python standard library and well-supported third-party modules. Examples will also be given of popular libraries to use for various types of development, including data processing, web development, database development, and server administration.
