In lieu of our regular monthly meeting in May, the Atlanta Gallifreyans will be in attendance at Timegate, the annual local Doctor Who and Stargate convention, happening on Memorial Day weekend from May 25th through May 27th!

Guests this year include Caitlin Blackwood (Amelia Pond) from Doctor Who and David Nykl (Dr. Zelenka) from Stargate: Atlantis.

The convention features Doctor Who, Stargate and general sci-fi related programming. This year, a new Costuming track has been added for your enjoyment!

Admission to Timegate can be purchased in advance for $40 through May 6th at the website. The cost for the weekend pass is $50 at the door. Day passes will also be available at the door as well.

Our regular monthly meetings will resume on June 24.

Since it's all in 1 hotel, one doesn't have to run all over the place to get to different panels etc. (like D*C)

Timegate just ended yesterday, and had a very successful year. The con had an increase in attendance over last year, with over 450 attendees!

Caitlin Blackwood (young Amelia Pond from Doctor Who) and David Nykl (Dr. Zelenka from Stargate: Atlantis) were the major guests this year and both were very friendly and accessible. Panel attendance was very strong, not only in the Doctor Who track, but the Stargate and Otherworlds tracks as well. Planning for next year's convention is already underway even before the end of this weekend's event. There will be a special focus on Doctor Who next year, as the show celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Being on staff, I didn't really have a chance to take any photos, but if you were at the con and took any photos, feel free to post them here. There were some great costumes this year, one fave being a Rick Grimes costume from Walking Dead!
