January 11, 2016:
The Metro Atlanta Geeks South meetup group will be merging back into the main Metro Atlanta Geeks meetup group found at: http://www.meetup.com... on February 13, 2016.
The standing weekly MAG South Monday night Trivia event hosted by Corey, will continue as an event on that page.
This change is happening as part of a restructuring plan that is currently in process in both leadership and roles by Metro Atlanta Geeks. By becoming a member of the main group, you will have access to many more opportunities/events in Atlanta as well as other Southside events which will continue to be listed.
If you have ideas, suggestions or would like to host/co-host a geeky meetup of any kind, please reach out to the leadership team once once you have joined the main group.
Thanks for your time and involvement in the group!

We like to share, discuss and enjoy all things geeky! Who says we have no social skills?... :-)
Still not sure?... (see definition below from Wikipedia)
excerpted From Wikipedia:
- A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest. This definition is very broad but because many of these interests have mainstream endorsement and acceptance, the inclusion of some genres as "geeky" is heavily debated. Persons have been labeled as or chosen to identify as physics geeks, mathematicsgeeks, engineering geeks, sci-fi geeks, computer geeks, various science geeks, movie and film geeks (cinephile), comic book geeks, theater geeks, history geeks, music geeks, sport geeks, art geeks, philosophygeeks, literature geeks, historical reenactment geeks, video game geeks, and roleplay geeks.
- A person who relates academic subjects to the real world outside of academic studies; for example, using multivariate calculus to determine how they should correctly optimize the dimensions of a pan to bake a cake.
- A person who has chosen concentration rather than conformity; one who passionately pursues skill (especially technical skill) and imagination, not mainstream social acceptance
Important Note about events: We may have several organizers and each is allowed to set up their own meeting criteria (such as ages, singles only, no children, etc.) Certain meetups such as those at restaurants, bars, attractions, ticketed events, etc. may have a minimum age requirement as well. If uncertain, please confirm before attending an event.
