Thank you for your feedback on the selection of a place for the first meeting.

The second meeting will be in a different place and the third meeting in an even different place. All suggestions will be considered. I called 12 places at the Perimeter and the lowest room price I could find for 25 people was $250. Rooms cost money either in a charge or added on to the food/drink charges. It has to have free parking and minimal smoking. It has to have food and alcohol. Free parking probably isn't going to happen sometimes in Midtown or Downtown. With dinner, a drink, gas, and maybe parking you are still spending $10-20 less than an AIGA meeting just to hear the speaker. The speakers may not be from New York City but they'll be good. This is about networking and meeting people who can help you...not meeting someone from a hot ad agency in Seattle who can never do anything for your career. You are all now deputy location scouts in charge of finding places in your part of town where we can move the meetup so it is in different parts of the city for different months. Please also forward people you'd like to have speak to the group -- a vendor with a unique offering, a luminary designer you admire, or a technical rep from a software company.
