Alpharetta Joomla Meetup

This month we're going to focus on advice for running a webdesign business with Joomla.

Brent Laminack will lead a discussion about the practical side of running a webdesign shop.

Steven Johnson will talk about how Joomla developers can make their life easier when setting up client sites.  This can be done by creating a default Joomla install with all of your favorite/ standard extensions and using akeeba backup to clone it. Detailed explanation here: http://www.intownwebdesign.com/web-design-howto/how-to-create-joomla-websites-fast.html

First meetup that I attended and it was fantastic. Lots of new technical information that I didn't know, as well as a really friendly and knowledgable group who were willing to share all of their expertise. I highly recommend this meetup.

HELLO STEVE Your meetup last evening was very helpful. I am particularly interested in marketing and appreciate the information provided. I have attended over 30 different developer meetups to find out what and who is out there to inform our business members and help them find the right folks. If you like, shoot me your email address to see their names and URLs, or view my Linkedin profile. As a marketing person I learned a lot about Joomla. This information increases my ability to influence business prospects decisions on interactive internet marketing and website development. Thanks. RICHARD

Top notch information from heavily experienced Joomla users. Found out Hostgator had been sold and got a big heads up of what that means for this popular host and anyone who is using it.
That's an example of why I go even though I don't really consider myself a developer, just a site developer for my own purposes who occasionally builds websites for companies.
