[opensource-91] Meeting location price for Roswell Hembree Park Meeting Room

The park  and meeting facility is located on Hembree Road at the Intersection of Hembree Park Road in Alpharetta. You can get to the park easily from HWY 9 or Hembree Road - that is, if you can get there in Atlanta traffic…  (can you actually get anywhere in Atlanta traffic?)

They have a room that easily seats 80 at tables. It comes with a screen, no projector however, but with wifi. The fee is $40 an hour less 25%  with a letter saying we’re a nonprofit group, presumably not a 501c3 since I asked and that wasn’t a requirement as far as the on-site guy, Jonathan,  knew.

The room is open 2nd Tuesdays 7-9, so we could get it. It’s got tons of parking right out front, is a great facility and new. For those of you used to go to our meetings at Andretti’s, this is very close to that location.

We have to be out at 9:00 as the facility closes at 9PM.

If we are interested, we’ll need a member who lives in Roswell to act as the sponsor and we’ll need to go to the Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department  (RRPHCAD) to apply. Once we have applied, there is a parks commission who reviews and approves or denies the application.

For anyone following up, the person to talk to at the RRPHCAD is Morgon Rodgers. Email:  [address removed] [masked]-3705.

John, doesn’t HP have a huge office just across 285 from Perimeter? They should have something if anyone has a connection there.

Has anybody contacted any computer or marketing company in the King and Queen buildings?  Central location...fairly easy access and lots of parking.

Many thanks indeed for that Chris!

I think the best plan will be to research another couple of options like this and then put them to the group to decide.

I went over and met with Katie Roberts regarding using the Lanier Tech site as a meeting location, here is what I learned:

Room: seats up to 48

Non profit rate: $150 a half day (min. rental, available until 10:30pm)

Includes: Classroom setup, screen, projector, wireless internet, house sound system

15% advance booking discount for 3 to 5 full days or equivalent , 20% for 6 full days or more.

Excellent facility just off GA 141 at GA 400 (behind the Avenues Mall) with parking.

Hope that answers one question for the group,
