What games we play?
We get this question a lot. The answer is: a lot of things.
The "regular" games: Team Fortress 2, Supreme Commander, UT2004-Carball, Artemis
The "irregulars":  Starcraft(II), Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, <insert random Steam game here>, Rise of Nations, etc.

Expect more Starcraft 2. Borderlands, and whatever we come up with :-)

WHAT YOU GET:

  • A Seat at our LAN event (table footprint: 36"W x 30"D... ish)
  • A LAN connection
  • All-you-can-drink soda (tell us your favorite when you register)
  • Dinner (usually Pizza, or whatever the group decides on)

VENUE NOTES:

  • This is a private residence, please clean up after yourself.
  • Allergen Info: There is a cat in the house.
  • Crash space is available for those who want to stay late and not drive home right away; let us know if you need it (bring a sleeping bag).
  • There is a 30Mb cable internet connection.
  • A HTPC and Media Server are available.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Your Computer with a wired network interface. (this is obvious, right?)
  • Protip: Configure your computer's WIRED interface for "Automatic/DHCP" The most common problem at setup is a statically-assigned IP address fouling up the works.
  • Monitor
  • Keyboard, mouse, joystick, game pads, etc.
  • Your mouse pad (the tables are NOT optical/laser mouse friendly).
  • Headphones with or without microphone (expect voice chat to be used)
  • Power strip and all applicable power cords.
  • Your windows, driver and game CD's.
  • UPDATED Virus protection (Microsoft Security Essentials is your friend).
  • A good attitude and friends (both we also have plenty of :-) )
  • Snacks and other goodies are always appreciated.

WHAT NOT TO BRING:

  • SPEAKERS (Speakers of any sort are discouraged due to the close proximity of everyone, and the tendency for people to bring sub-woofers...)
  • Viruses, Trojans, worms, etc (scan your machine before plugging in)
  • Adware, spyware, etc.
  • Hubs, switches, routers, access points, etc. (these are provided). Any rogue network equipment will be smited by the Network Gods <g>.
  • Port scanners, packet bombers, encryption crackers, aimbots, wallhacks, etc.

RULES:

  • NO SMOKING in the building. Before lighting up, go outside. It's not only common courtesy, it's the law.
  • No porn. If anyone is offended and/or complains, then it MUST go. Just be reasonable.
  • Anyone caught cheating, packet bombing, roughhousing, stealing or messing with other people's property without permission WILL BE EJECTED - NO refunds, NO second chance! We are very serious about this one.

IF YOU SIGNED UP AND CAN'T MAKE IT:
It happens. Traffic, work, dead boxen and domestic overunits can all put a wrench in the works at the last minute. If you cancel 7 days before the event you will get a refund. Anyone cancelling within 7 days of the event or not showing up will be credited for the next event.

Oh also, should I bring an Ethernet cable as well?

Hello guys, This would be my first time attending , but I'm excited. I probably won't be able to show up until mid afternoon'ish if that is ok. Should I try to bring chairs or find a table or something? Also, are there any other games that might pop up that I should install? I have a pretty extensive library, so not all of them are installed. I mean sc2, bf3, borderlands 2, killing floor, etc.......

    Thanks.

For some reason, I thought this event started at 8pm. I'm not sure why I thought this...my bad.

Is it ok to show up a bit late? Like around 11(ish)?

Hey everyone! This will be my first event with you guys since Galaxy Games. It was pure luck that led me to this event group, but I'm excited to see everyone again!

I might be able to bring a 5' table if I need to. If you guys need it, let me know!

I don't have chairs though, sorry.

Hey, Im new to this Group thing. Im a local. I live in the ALpharetta area. Im a competitive CoD Player. I was wondering when the next CoD LANs are. also what the ruleset, prizes, etc are. THank you -Samay

Are you talking about CoD on PC, or on a console? There's no competitive scene in ATL for PC that I know of, especially for the newer iterations. I don't think we'd be above playing CoD 4 or older, but the newer stuff doesn't have any real LAN support or following

      June 20, 2013

    • Chris S.

Hey...I play COD... Samay why don't you come by? We usually have a ton of fun no matter what.

    Eeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    11!
A reminder, get here early to snag the 7 available seats in the upstairs tables.
Chris: can you bring that four footer of yours?

    June 18, 2013

    • Chris S.

I can bring my square table...that's about it.

      June 20, 2013

    • Brad N.

      Cool.

      June 20, 2013

  • Steven S.

Lets do a few things to mix it up.
Make sure you have left 4 dead 2 from Steam. We will be forming teams and racing. Also, we are going to do a cool point system. I'll figure that out on Saturday. Possible whiteboard with names, etc. Unreal 2004 server will be running with bots at all times, people will be able to jump in and out between events. Happy fragging.
