I was thinking of having 2 versions of case I am designing.... Compact and Mid-Rig..... so I was think for the compact what would happen if to free up space, the HDD/SDD holders height were made shorter which will result in able to fit in 2 HDD or 1 HDD/SDD each, but have one hard drives exposed area pointing down and the other hard drives exposed area pointing up, and having the back plates of the hard drive about 1 cm away from each other..... and also have the option to remove the oprtical bay..... the demensions I am thinking of is 15.16" x 8.27" x 14.69" but it may change....

    • Brandon V.

      yes

Are you designing the compact case to use mATX? It's a little large for ITX builds - can you make a quick sketch up so we can see the design? Hard to properly picture it

Question to all: What size of a case suits YOU for LAN or any other occations (mid/tower/what ever) also say the length and width because it will make it easier (cm, inch's, feet, pixels, ect.)....... If you guys have any suggestions of a design feature (airflow, vent, shape, ext.) PM on Meet-up or Facebook and tell me in detail or even show a picture or draw what you like to suggest.......

Biggest card that you could expect to see is going to be about 11.5"-12" long these days. Don't worry about fitting the biggest, though. Cards will only get smaller and more powerful as time goes on - a GTX 285 was 12.5" long and is now outperformed in most cases by a gtx 650Ti, which is the length of a PCI-Ex16 slot. Plan on having decent airflow patterns to help isolate the heat from components, that will help more than anything else

Size wise? I prefer a small case for LANs, mATX or mITX, because I don't need all the computing or graphical power that I want when I'm gaming at home. I have four HDDs, 1 SSD, 2 graphics cards, a giant CPU heat sink, and soon a sound card in my full tower, but the damn thing weighs almost 50 pounds. In my mini tower, I have a single HDD and SSD, a mATX board, PCI wireless card, and a single small graphics card. I'm planning on downsizing it even smaller to a mITX case and board. The cases I use are the silverstone ft-02 and tj-08E.

Just a random thing but I have an offer that I feel like wanting to do for Quakecon...... While I was trying to find a small computer case to put my hardware in I was browsing the Quakecon website and noticed that they are doing a Case modding contest and I had a idea of creating a case then buying a "boring, that everyone has, expensive" case..... and so I am asking everyone and anyone now if they feel interested in designing a "MAGG Case"..... I am currently creating a 3D sample case on 3ds max and then researching good airflow, frame and exterior design/ interior origination design for hardware and cables... Let me know what you guys think.........
