I was very happy to see so many people and so many new faces at a new venue! The food was great..coffee too.....and there was room for everyone. I also noticed and Prof. Simon, Sungo and I had three different tables of people to help. One from the African, one from the Brazilian, and one from the Continental aspect of Portuguese! Very cool!

Concordo - eu gostei muito desta reuniao. Having Seu Roberto at the table was a plus, even this old dog learned some new tricks! Also, I went to lunch at Emidio's on Roswell Road today and heard Robert and a Portuguese woman sing fados. Fados are a unique Portuguese music genre evoking sadness or longing. Sorta like American blues. There are actually some videos on U-Tube that are worth checking out. Mariza is a well know artist, but there are others as well. Aside from Robert, I might be the only "fadista gringo" in town.

Good group. Good conversation. Got to experience a bit of the differences between Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese outside of Brazil.

Oi Marv! Uma difereça estava em dialeto ou pronúcia. Hi Marv! One difference was the dialect or pronunciation.

First time meeting up with this group. The organizers were very friendly and inclusive, and it was an overall good time.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
