The Atlanta Ruby Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

The Atlanta Ruby Meetup is our monthly main event.

6:30-7:00 Food / Networking
7:15 til ~9:00: Presentations

We are meeting at the Centergy Building (Hodges Room, 3rd floor) in Tech Square, next to GA Tech (map).

This week Adam Dill and Blake Chambers will be open sourcing and talking about a new CMS they developed and Zac Stewart will be presenting on using HTTP OPTIONS for self documenting APIs.

Interested in Speaking? Want to show off your Ruby project or Ruby-related technology? Want to suggest a topic? Let us know!

Parking on the street is limited. If you are willing to walk a few blocks you can likely find a spot.
There is $1.5/hour parking in a surface lot across the street near Barnes and Noble. Credit cards accepted. The once collapsed parking deck connected to the building is back in service! Cheapest parking is the surface lot across from The Cheetah, I believe they are $4/day cash only.

The Midtown Marta station is a few blocks away, the Tech Trolley (free) runs from it to the door of the Centergy Building.

Checking in to see if Blake's talk details were or can be uploaded anywhere? I'd be happy to mirror them if necessary.

Patrick, I can do July... Probably helps me anyway as I am behind on project and really didn't need to be spending time today honing presentation... ;-)

I was expecting to take 30-40 minutes since I originally thought I was sharing with another tonight.

Just a reminder that the pre-meetup meetup will be happening at MidCity Cafe around 5:00 pm tomorrow. If you are speaking, this would be a good opportunity to get liquored up before the main event. If you are not speaking, it's still a good opportunity to get liquored up.

Hi Travis! I'm sorry man (a talk on Spree would be awesome), but we're full up this month. Can I put you down for July?

Also Mike left us for GitHub :( I took over as organizer so let me know if you need anything.

Hey... I am looking and see that there are other folk lined up to speak and that Mike Skalnik isn't in the list... I was planning on presenting on Spree Commerce as a Case Study from the project I just completed with Ticket Alternative... Do you guys still have room for me?

    Hey Guys and Gals,

It's me again. I miss last meeting do to unforeseen circumstances. AS I stated last time I'm brand new to this, so just getting my feet wet, hopefully I'm not to far behind to some what jump on board. Looking forward to meeting you all and trying to figure this thing out. While I have your attention.... Whats the best IDE to use for ruby?

Sorry about that, I'm not sure how second floor got into the location. I'm ~85% sure it wasn't always like that, I suspect I picked Centergy off of a list of locations, then later second floor was added to that location. Hope Lean Startup was interesting!

The meetup was on the third foor last Wednesday. There were 5 or 10 of us inadvertently in the Lean Startup meeting on the second floor.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
