The Atlanta Ruby Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

The Atlanta Ruby Meetup is our monthly main event.

Schedule:

6:30-7:00 Food / Networking
7:15 til ~9:00: Presentations

We are meeting at the Centergy Building (Hodges Room, 3rd floor) in Tech Square, next to GA Tech (map).

This week Travis Bailey will be presenting his SpreeCommerce (http://spreecommerce.com) case study and Jonathan Wallace will be giving a talk on Maglev (http://maglev.github.com). Ho-Sheng Hsiao will also be telling us about the "Secrets of let()".

Also this week, our friends at Engine Yard (http://engineyard.com) will be sponsoring a drink-up afterwards at our usual, Cypress Street (http://cypressbar.com).

Interested in Speaking? Want to showoff your Ruby project or Ruby-related technology? Want to suggest a topic? Let us know!

Parking on the street is limited. If you are willing to walk a few blocks you can likely find a spot.
There is $1.5/hour parking in a surface lot across the street near Barnes and Noble. Credit cards accepted. The once collapsed parking deck connected to the building is back in service! Cheapest parking is the surface lot across from The Cheetah, I believe they are $4/day cash only.

The Midtown Marta station is a few blocks away, the Tech Trolley (free) runs from it to the door of the Centergy Building.

Really enjoyed the Ruby meetup last night. This was my first event for this group, and it was a good experience getting to meet folks, and learning from the speakers. I'm looking forward to the next meeting!

Well, I hate to be that *other* guy, but... We are a yet-to-be-funded startup who will be participating in a Silicon Valley accelerator program for the next 3 months, looking for an RoR engineer to help us get to demo day. Details at http://bit.ly/TheYNQ . If you want to chat about this, I'll be at the drink-up after the mtg, or PM me at eric(at)plisten(dot)com

I hate to be that guy but... We are a new FUNDED travel start up in Atlanta looking for a few Ruby engineers and a front end developer to join our team. Myself and the other founder have participated in a successful exit. I'll be the guy taking about Mr. Arlo.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
