I have a rails 2 application I'm trying to move to rails 3 and I am
killing myself trying to figure this part out.
httpd is using mod_proxy to deliver users from the url
http://domain/por... internally to http://localhost:...:
ProxyPass /portal http://127.0.0.1:...
ProxyPassReverse /portal http://127.0.0.1:...
relative_url_root was used in rails 2 to set the relative url to
"/portal", which caused all helpers (ex: stylesheet_tag, link_to, etc)
to generate links with /portal prefixed.
relative_url_root is no longer used (deprecated) and users are
encouraged to use ENV['RAILS_RELATIVE_URL_ROOT'] but I cannot seem to
figure out how to get this to work. There are several posts that all
seem to show something and none of them seem to work correctly.
Please do not suggest changing pieces of the puzzle (i.e. apache) as
they are clearly not the problem. If you have a suggestion on how to
make proxy work with rails 3 and subdirectories, I'm all ears.
