Fathers, especially those who wish to remain an influential part of their children's lives face many challenges when they experience separation, divorce, custody battles, child support, the legal system, etc. We are a group of custodial and non-custodial fathers coming together to promote the importance and need of fatherhood after the breakup of the traditional family. We are a resource center, a learning hub, a support group and a brotherhood!
Fathers play a SPECIAL role in the development, self-identity, growth, confidence and maturation of their children. Like other male mammals our role is to lead, to teach, to protect and to provide for our offsprings. Whether they are 8 or 18, all children NEED their fathers to actively be part of their lives, even when they don't know it. Always remember, NO ONE can every replace a good father!
ASF is a place where you can discuss what you are going through, get advice from others that have been there, and find support for all you are dealing with as a single dad. We provide a safe forum where you can talk to others and work through tough decisions, get feedback from experts and receive practical suggestions and advice. We host session on parenting, financial planning, post-marriage communication, relationship coaching, etc. No topic is off limits as it relates to being a single father!
You also can fellowship and have some fun with other dads! ASF is not just about serious issues, we are a network of men who all want the same thing and who are on the same journey. This means we have things in common, which can be used to network and socialize on with each other outside of ASF, and build new friendships.
Note: You need not be the parent with majority physical custody of your kid(s) to join, in fact the primary requirement we have for membership is that you wish to play a significant positive role in the lives of your child(ren).
"We are not VISITORS...We are PARENTS!"
