I love that our Atlanta community is made up of so many caring people with so much passion and heart. With this in mind, I wanted to remind you about a little nonprofit I work for that could really use some of that loving energy right about now. Reachout America is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that was started 6 years ago by one man as a way to reach out of the darkness of coping with an unexpected diagnosis of MS and the debilitating symptoms that accompany this disease. This man wanted something positive to focus his energy on, so he started a charity to fund inclusive camp experiences for children with special needs.
Reachout America gives kids who face significant challenges in their daily lives positive experiences they couldn't have without our help. Much of the work of Reachout America to date has been to provide hippotherapy (or horseback therapy) for kids with various special needs. Reachout America also sponsors children who are critically ill in attending the special-interest camp of their choice. We are working to substantially increase inclusive opportunities at camps across the country by providing the necessary care-givers and supportive equipment for children who are critically ill, or have congenital or acquired disabilities. We also have preliminary plans in place to provide assistance to at-risk homeless and displaced youth. Our overall vision is to bring hope, healing, and life-affirming experiences to children facing challenges in their day-to-day lives.
Please, help us fully realize the potential of Reachout America.

Reachout America also has many hands-on volunteer opportunities available. Each of us has our own heart's calling, and I sincerely support you in giving your time, energy, and resources to the causes that speak to you. If this one does, please consider offering your assistance to help us continue and expand our important work. Every little bit helps.
