This month Douglas Knudsen presents: The Life and Times of a Flex Component. I will be taking a deep dive into the Flex Component Life Cycle. Why do you need to hear this? Every Flex developer needs to understand this! The life cycle is at the heart of every component you use to build your UI! Build performant and stable custom components with techniques learned in this talk. I will start the night off with a Custom Components 101, speaking to what they are and how to get started building them. Every Flex app uses custom components in some way.

Douglas Knudsen is currently located in the Atlanta area and is a author, developer, and family man. Douglas has been involved in web based technology development for over ten years now. He enjoys working with Adobe technologies such as Flex, Flash Platform, and ColdFusion as well as working with the surrounding technologies of databases, Java, AJAX, and the like. He is currently involved in RIA development with Flex working with Fortune 500 companies as well as startups.
