How to generate unique ideas for your startup - using Lego Serious Play

About this group

Startup Corner is a free event happening weekly at The Cribb. Every week features a different topic, interesting speakers, cozy couches, coffee, snacks and creative people!

On December 3, our featured speaker will be Innovation Architect, Gbemi Akande. He will give you a session on how to generate ideas to solve challenges in your business.

Take a break from the work week, and come have fun while learning tips for entrepreneurship, meeting regional experts, and networking with your peers.

About the workshop

Ideas are the lifeblood of any innovation effort. However, many organizations simply use suggestion schemes and idea boxes, which don’t always generate innovative or actionable ideas. Even brainstorming has limitations when it comes to getting people to think creatively and come up with unique ideas.

This Idea Generation workshop explains how to go beyond brainstorming to generate more high-value innovation project ideas from a variety of sources including internal innovation and R&D sessions, current and potential customers, and suppliers in the value chain. You will learn how to use a variety of advanced ideation techniques, and how to  generate ideas from outside the organization using tools such as open innovation, crowdsourcing and social media technology.

This workshop features LEGO SERIOUS PLAY®This workshop features LEGO SERIOUS PLAY® — a unique methodology designed to enhance innovative thinking and creativity, and improve communication and teamwork. Guided by Gbemisola Akande, a Trained LEGO SERIOUS PLAY consultant, you will use LEGO building blocks to create specific representations, or metaphors, as a tool to improve idea generation and help you communicate your ideas more clearly.

I liked it. Instead of drawing 2D illustrations to visualize ideas, Lego bricks can help simulate ideas in 3D. I liked the synergy between the teams' members and would really advise to use this technique to trigger ideas ...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
