This month we've got a really great speaker lined up! We're ironing out the topic details, here's a speaker bio to get you guys interested:
Brian's been a full stack web developer since 2005 and has been active with node since the v0.2.x days. Generally a generalist, he has a focus on product over rhetoric, fun over fanaticism, and simplicity over most things. In his spare time he maintains a PostgreSQL client for node and is working on a still un-launched, never to be profitable web-app to experiment with the real-time-web aspects of node and scratch an itch.
Building end-to-end web testing on top of mocha
Using the expressiveness of mocha and expect.js we'll explore how to build a flexible test suite for your web app to use both during development and as production smoke-test tool. We will live code a small DSL to help doing http testing & verification. We'll cover design aspects focused on readability and reuse.
A few notes:
We are looking for sponsors! Please let us know if you're interested. If you do sponsor, you get to say a few words at the start of the meetup about what you do, if you're looking for node developers, etc.
November we will probably be doing the node knockout hackathon, probably no meeting- thanksgiving and all. If you know of a downtown venue for a hackathon or possible sponsors, please let me know :).
