Presentation

Rob Bygrave will be giving a 2-part talk covering Ebean ORM and AOP. ORM is a big subject, so we'd like some feedback on what ORM topics people want to cover. Rob is also very familiar with the JPA spec so he's happy fielding any questions on JPA or ORM in general.

Ebean ORM

    * Questions on JPA or ORM in general?
    * Introduction to Ebean
    * Partial objects
    * "AutoFetch" - Automatic query tuning in ORM
    * Mapping with JPA Annotations
    * Lazy Loading
    * Persistence Context
    * Optimistic Concurrency Checking

AOP

    * Introduction to AOP
    * How AOP works in Java
    * Introduction to the ASM Library
    * Walk though building a javaagent using ASM
    * OSGi and AOP (maybe)

    Enjoyed tonights session - learnt more about ORM than I expected. I liked having the munchies mid-way through the night, gave a different feel to the evening. The slides from my OSGi presentation are also posted to http://www.slideshare.net/t...
