Axis & Allies Game

Would anyone be interested in a game of Axis and Allies (original version for new players, or Europe 1940, Pacific 1940 for more experienced players)? This requires 2-5 players. We can meet at my place near Botany Town Centre on a Saturday. I'd suggest starting about midday or earlier For food there are plenty of nearby takeaway places.

Games typically last about 6 hours, except for a combined Europe+Pacific game. That looks like a really awesome game. I have never tried it yet but suspect it would take around 12 hours. It has up to 9 or 10 players but some of those are rather minor. France would get knocked out in round 1 and the resources of China and ANZAC are very limited.

Hi - I'm one of the friends of Nick Shaw. It would be great to find some others who might like to play against us.

Hi Ray, I created a meetup for Sat 2 Feb for Global 1940 and about 5 people have replied. But if the two of you want to come tomorrow as well that's fine with me, I will be home from about 10 am.

Hi John - sorry, as quickly as we were in we are out again. Peter has taken ill and my morning schedule has taken a turn for the worse. We will aim at February 2nd.

Hi, a couple of friends and I have been playing AA games for a few years now and would be keen for a game if some experienced players want a game. I own AA Revised, AA Pacific, AA 50, AA Europe 1940 & AA Pacific 1940 (which makes AA 1940 Global). Will also be purchasing AA World War 1 when it comes out in a couple of months

Hi Nick, I'm always keen for a game. I have the classic version of the game which I used to play a long time ago and recently got Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940. We tried Pacific 1940 but Japan (me) got crushed a bit easily. It seems a little unbalanced but perhaps a more aggressive Japan would succeed.

Hi Adam, you're welcome to come along. It's a game of two sides so if you're a newbie or want to leave early it shouldn't be that much of an issue - one of your allies can just step in.

1pm sounds good - should allow us to finish at a reasonable hour. Would be good if you could bring both games so we can have a look at them.

I'll email you guys my address closer to the date.

Hi, the time of 1 pm is just a suggestion.

Europe 1940 consists of Germany and Italy against Britain, Russia, USA (and there is a token French presence). We can have up to 5 players.

Pacific 1940 consists of Japan against USA, Britain, China, ANZAC but China and ANZAC have not much resources so probably best with 3-4 players.

I'd prefer Saturday 1st but both are possible.

I haven't played the 1940 games either - the boards are brand new. It looks like a single game would work ok with 2-4 players. How does Sat 1 Dec or Sat 8 Dec sound?

Sundays are busy for me, I am keen for a Saturday like John.

    November 14, 2012

  • Rick W

Actually I haven't played either 1940 game so just one of those would also be an option.

Hi Rick, thanks. I can't make Sundays but a Saturday some time would be great. We probably need a few players with a reasonable knowledge of the game. Ben is still coming up to speed on the basics.

Just to give you some indication of the size the combined game barely fits on my dining room table when it is extended

I'm also CBD only - and I'd be in for the combined game only. I can offer the use of my place in Grafton. Times: early Sun 18th Nov, or the weekend after?
