Play Eclipse

Finally got my hands on Eclipse. Had a trial game, great fun and interesting mechanics. Well deserving of its high rating on BGG.

Any interest to give this a whirl? Up to 6 players.

Locations: New to this group so are there any places we can go to and I can bring along?

Hi all, Please comment on this post as to whether you are confirmed to attend. We're after 6 players for Tuesday.

Is someone able to give me a lift from Grafton/Khyber Pass? Although if Mark and Jude confirm, I'm happy to bail out too.

I'm based near newmarket can swoop past. Just ping me your deets, suspect to be leaving 6:20ish to avoid traffic

Okay, guys, since there seems to be an overflow, I think my +1 and I shall bow out for now. :D Hope you guys have fun! <3

Or - if no one else is planning on droping out, and everyone shows up, another group could play something else.

I've got Starcraft, Cosmic encounter, Ad Astra, BSG...

I'm going to have to dropout I'm afraid - on public transport that day so the journey from Mission Bay to Albany looks daunting, plus I've now got a conference call of unknown length at some point during the evening. Sorry folks - enjoy the game and hope to play later. Like I say, I may set up a North Shore game at some point (not restricted to North Shore people obviously!)

Phil - will you be bringing your set as well? Are two games possible?

Hi Sam - could you set the date and location for this meetup at the top? That should narrow down the numbers and reduce confusion. I'm in for the 22nd, out if it it's on the North Shore(?), in if it's central(?)

    January 19, 2013

And a start time please - that will be a factor in whether I can come or not. Thanks!

If you still need a venue I can host at my place. I'm in Glen Eden. Also, Mt Albert games night is on this tuesday IIRC - we could just go there...

Sorry I can't make it on 22nd jan. perhaps some other time

Hi all, As we firm up plans I just ask a couple of things -

    - If you cannot make the 22nd in the evening please can you change your RSVP, there's a lot of demand to play Eclipse and I'm more than happy to organise another one if this works out well. Don't want people missing out when they don't have to!

    - Please read the rules before attending, it's very smooth once you understand the basics but as it is quite lengthy we want to avoid holdups.
    Rules here -http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/69496/eclipse-rulebook
    Quite a few on youtube.

Looking forward to an epic spacey jaunt!

    Cheers,

    Sam

How many copies have we got? I.e. space for more?

Hi all, sounds wonderful! I have a pretty massive euro game collection great to know there's other folk interested in them.

Why don't we look at the 22nd, who can make that date in the evening of course? I may have created this meetup incorrectly (first time) but there's a 6 player cap on this. I'm more than happy to do another one if this one goes well.

For those that don't know Eclipse I suggest a flick through the rule book and watch a youtube video or two. This is a must before starting as it's rather complex but very cool and we want to hit the ground running.

Phil, I'm sure you can clear up any on the finer details!

In terms of locations thank you Julie and Chris for your generous offers, we will need a fairly sizable table for this with six of us.

I am quite content to sit back and be a watcher and get the hang of it.

      January 13, 2013

I can fit 8-12 easily (3 large tables). Don't forget there is the Iron Man event so waterfront from town is closed on the Sunday. Parnell may be the best bet then as its easy to get to from the bridge.

I'm ok for the 22nd. But don't think the table is big enough for 6 though... :(

City suits me well because I live 20 min north of the bridge, though I appreciate Chris's offer.

I live in the city, so can offer some space too if needed.

I'd love to play. I can offer some space in mission bay if that helps.

Yesssss. Let's play! I just briefly checked it out on boardgamegeeks and saw it was sci-fi. I'm new too. :) We could try a pub or a coffee shop? If we have it at Esquires K Rd, we can negotiate for discounts on the food and drink, I think. :D
