Axis & Allies 1940 Global

Would anyone be interested in a game of Axis and Allies. If there are enough experienced players I'd like to try 1940 Global which looks like an awesome game, if there are only a few players perhaps Europe 1940. I'd suggest my place because I have a table large enough (just) for the combined game board.

If there is anyone interested in playing but haven't played before we could arrange a game of the classic version which may be easiest to learn.

No problem. Germany is my favourite. It's good to be bad.

Was a good game. All thanks to our Allies mentor for some good advice that saw us through.

I've got the game set myself! Although never managed to rope in a person to play more than the early stages with me :-P So still a complete novice myself

If I'm going to sit in front of a computer by myself there are other games I'd rather play ;-)

I play it like an email game rather than real time. With several players you may only get 1 turn in a week. Still there is no rush.

I have played A&A original ,revised and 1942. This version looks a little different and less predictable, not to mention being more epic.

I haven't played the game before, is there an online tutorial I can watch?

Hi Vienna, the game has two teams so your mates can help you pick up the rules and give you advice. Germany, Japan and the Italians take on the rest of the world consisting of USA, UK, Russia, ANZAC, France, and China. We don't need nine players since some of those are fairly minor and some players can have more than one country.

Thanks. This sounds much better than roll the dice for Monopoly money, I'll give it a go.

Hi John - you're place is a bit far out for me. I'm happy to offer my place again, or can I catch a lift with someone? (I'm in Grafton)

    Hello John

I am keen to play any version of Axis & Allies. Been playing versions online recently, be nice to try it in person. I can also pick up Rick on the way as I'm out west. Also okay to observe or partner. This is my first meet since joining so will be a good ice breaker.

Perhaps people could indicate which Saturdays they are free, and if anyone can give Rick a lift from Grafton

Hil John, I am away for the long weekend. So I can't make it.

How does 10am on Saturday 27 Jan suit everyone? That is the long weekend. If we have more than 4 coming I'd suggest trying the Global game.

David, no problem if you are still a novice, we can team you up with someone who has played a bit more.

Rick, maybe Ben can give you a lift as he lives out that way. He can't make it this coming weekend but I'll check the following.
